Use of the EarScratcher
The EarScratcher can be used for removing earwax or to relieve itching.The EarScratcher is manufactured in such a way you cannot damage your eardrum.
The ear canal is a sensitive organ, so proceed with caution.
Place the stainless steel loop, with care, into your ear canal and begin with scraping movements along the ear canal, bringing earwax and flakes of skin outwards.Wipe off on a tissue.
Attention !
- Only for adults ( over 18 years ).
- Do not use the EarScratcher in case of a running ear, pain or inflammation.
- Do not use the EarScratcher if your ear has been operated on.
- Do not use the EarScratcher if you know there are congenital disorders at your ear.
- Stop in case of pain.
- One EarScratcher a person in connection with hygiene.
- Clean the EarScratcher with alcohol or ordinary water and soap after every use.
- In case of damage of the steel loop, throw the EarScratcher away.
- If there is no improvement : see your doctor.
Tip !
- To obtain the best results, use the EarScratcher once per 14 days.
- The easiest way to remove earwax is when it has been in contact with water and not with oil as so many people think.
Use the EarScratcher by example about 15 minutes after a shower or a hairwash. Or otherwhise bring some warm water into your ear with a pipette and cover with a cotton-wool plug.
General information:
If you try to remove earwax out of the ear canal with the above mentioned objects, you will face the following problems. Cerumen ( the medical word for earwax and skin flakes ) located in the ear canal will probably be pushed deeper into the canal instead of bringing the wax outwards and there is a danger of a harmful touch of the eardrum, or even worse a perforation.
A loop from a solid material has the best results for extracting earwax from the ear canal.
Because of the required quality of the material we used surgical stainless steel to produce the curette. It is a strong material that does not give eczema problems when it is in contact with the skin covered ear canal.
A complete round wire would roll over the cerumen during scraping. This is the reason we chose for a stainless steel wire with a half cylindrical profile, twisted with the flat side inwards.
Concerning the risk of perforating the eardrum: Biometrics facts show that the dimensions of the length of the ear canal of an adult are between 23 and 30 millimeter. The entrance of the ear canal is oval.
My own investigations showed that the dimensions of the maximum diameters of the oval entrance of an adult ear were 16 millimeter and 11.5 millimeter.
Description of the EarScratcher
The EarScratcher was invented and developed by Dr C.H.Ephraïm, general practitioner in Terneuzen, the Netherlands. It is patented and carries the patent NR. NL 1013681.The EarScratcher consists of two parts. A stainless steel loop curette fixed into a plastic handle. The shape of the handle where the loop is fixed is spherical with a diameter of 15 millimeter.
By this spherical shape and dimension, the EarScratcher cannot perforate the eardrum of an adult, as you can see in the referred facts and drawing. The total length of the curette measured from the plastic handle is twenty millimeters, in that way the eardrum can never be perforated by accident.Conclusion
With the EarScratcher adults can easily and safely remove excessive earwax or otherwise scratch their ear canal.One should note that there should be no disorders from the external ear, such as congenital malformation of the ear canal, exostosis, atheroma or polyp from the ear canal. Other disorders are inflammation, or a running ear.
